Preparation

Heat a small amount of oil in a saucepan or deep frying pan with a lid. Add a thin layer of popcorn kernels, cover and heat over medium heat. Once the kernels begin to pop, gently shake the pan from time to time.

Remove from the heat when the intervals between pops become noticeably longer. Season with salt, butter, spices or sugar according to taste.
